Inauguration and Construction

The Ziggo Dome officially opened its doors on June 24, 2012. It was designed by the architectural firm Benthem Crouwel and although called a dome, there is actually no dome, rather a square block. The structure is an iconic part of the Amsterdam skyline.

The venue was named the “Ziggo Dome” after the Dutch cable television and internet service provider Ziggo. Before this it was known as the Amsterdam Music Dome.
