A’DAM Lookout for amazing views in Amsterdam

Enjoy panoramic view of Amsterdam and its surroundings

The tallest buildings in cities often have a tourist attraction attached and the A’dam Lookout is Amsterdam’s offering. This is a perfectly situated 22-storey high building that offers 360˚ views that take in the city, the River IJ and sometimes even as far away as the Dom Tower in Utrecht. There is an indoor and outdoor observation deck so you can enjoy the views whatever the weather.

You do not come to A’DAM Lookout just for the views. There are bars, restaurants, a hotel and even an adrenaline fueled swing attached to the side of the building.

What is at A’DAM Lookout?

The A’dam Tower is full of surprises. The main attraction is of course the beautiful view it offers of the city of Amsterdam. But within the tower itself you can find plenty to experience.

Experience elevator

The indoor panoramic deck sits on the 20th floor and is accessed by a super fast elevator. This takes just 20 seconds and whilst onboard you’ll be assailed with light and sound effects. Someone must have enjoyed Charlie and the Chocolate Factory when they thought this up.

The Outdoor 360˚ deck sits one storey above on the 21st floor. You’ll find telescopes here and helpful illustrations of the area you are looking at to help you locate your favourite attractions.

Over the Edge Swing in Amsterdam

On this outdoor deck is the ultimate swing for those who love thrills. Attached to the side of the building, you’ll strap in and then swing out and away from the building, feet hanging down 100 metres above the ground. This is the highest swing in Europe and probably best used before you enjoy lunch!

Food & Drink at A’Dam Lookout

One of the attractions of the A’DAM Lookout is that you can stay around and enjoy a coffee and some cake, something stronger or a 3-course meal in the restaurant.

Restaurant Madam

On the 20th floor you can enjoy the rooftop bar and restaurant. Sip cocktails whilst gazing at the beautiful views or enjoy the bar menu all day long, which includes soups, snacks and cakes. From 6pm you can book a table at the Madam Restaurant and pick from a range of International culinary dishes.

Restaurant Moon

On the 19th floor is the revolving Moon restaurant. You can either book for a 2-course lunch or in the evening a 3-course dinner. The floor will revolve in one hour so you can enjoy the variety of views throughout your dining experience.

Next door to the A’DAM Tower is the iconic Eye Film Museum. Here you’ll find a museum dedicated to film and cinema as well as a cinema showing the latest movies. These two attractions are so close to one another they are often visited in one trip. Sitting in the cafelooking across the river is a lovely way to spend some time relaxing.

Additionally, between these two attractions sits the very popular This is Holland, a 5D interactive flight experience that will fly you around the rest of the Netherlands.

As the ferry crossing only takes a couple of minutes and is free, there really is no excuse not to visit these three big Amsterdam attractions during your stay.
